Palestinian Liberation and the Black Radical Tradition
The Harriet Tubman Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies is excited to welcome Dr. Nadia Alahmed to campus for Palestinian Liberation and the Black Radical Tradition.
This teach-in explores how Palestinian liberation became a prominent feature of Radical Black Feminism of the 1980s and 1990s through the activisms of June Jordan, Angela Davis, and Alice Walker. We will discuss the contemporary history of the Black and Palestinian Solidarity movement and provide some historical analysis on the legacies, lessons, pitfalls, controversies, and possibilities of Black/Palestinian solidarities today.
